What I liked about the destination:

Where should I go? What should I see? How long should I go for? These are all questions that people ask when deciding on a trip to Africa. This itinerary has been around for years and after a few modifications to help it run smoother it is one of our top recommendations.

One main advantage this trip has over others is it allows you to cross at Isebania Border near Lake Victoria. Not only does this allow you the chance to see the largest lake in Africa, it also prevents you from having to go backtrack midway through the trip and “waste” a day like many other itineraries do.

This trip visits most of the “must see” parks when heading to Kenya and Tanzania including Lake Nakuru, Masai Mara, Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater. All of these parks offer something different and combined offer you an excellent chance of seeing the big 5.

I found the overland truck to be very comfortable, and the crew were excellent. It is incredible what the cook can create over a small camp stove and fire; we all thought the food was outstanding. The nights sitting around the campfire looking at the stars, sharing stories, and listening to the roar of lions are all things I will never forget about this trip.

This trip also offers you ample amount of time to interact with the local Masai Tribes and learn about their unique culture. If you are looking for outstanding game viewing, incredible cultural experiences, and some spectacular scenery then this camping trip is for you!

There is also the option of leaving the trip on the last day in Arusha and adding on a few days to relax on the beautiful beaches of Zanzibar. Ask your agent for more details.
