Tour: Hummingbird Highway :
Belize & Guatemala (GAA)
Duration: 15 Days
Cost: $879 USD

"The trip combines a perfect blend of adventure and relaxation. One day you have your adrenaline pumping as you snorkel amongst sharks, stingrays and barracudas in the second largest barrier reef in the world, and the next day you relax on white sand beaches soaking in the sun.

But this trip doesn’t stop at the beach- it also takes you deep into the Guatemalan rainforest. Here you can come face to face with all kinds of exotic wildlife, explore mysterious Mayan ruins buried underneath the dense jungle canopy, and navigate your way down local rivers by canoe.

On the Hummingbird Highway you will encounter a wide variety of experiences while exploring the local culture on a budget friendly tour that includes the best of Belize and Guatemala!"
James

ITINERARY:
Day: Description:
1 Arrive Belize City
Arrive in Belize City at any time.
2-4 Flores / Tikal, Guatemala
As you cross the border into Guatemala, you’ll immediately notice a different culture, punctuated by a heavy Mayan influence and Spanish language. Take a Spanish lesson, followed by a visit to a medicinal garden in San José. The next day, explore the mysterious lost city of Tikal, buried deep in the rainforest.
5-6 San Ignacio
The forest of Mountain Pine Ridge, the Mayan cave of Actun Tunichil Muknal, tubing down a lazy river or visiting local Mayan sites, including the famous Xunantunich, are all options here. Pick your choice and enjoy your stay; did we mention there is also some great food and wildlife?
7-8 River canoeing
Our local crew will expertly guide you on the many twists and turns of the local rivers. Canoe experience is not required, as our guides know the rivers well and are happy to share their knowledge of the local wildlife with you.
9-10 San Ignacio
Back to the Cayo district to squeeze in anything you missed the first time around.
11-14 Caye Caulker
After the jungle jaunt, it is time to slow things down for some serious R & R. Sun, sand, fantastic snorkelling and diving opportunities are now the focus. Enjoy a full-day snorkel trip out to the barrier reef where you may have the chance to swim with nurse sharks, stingrays and barracudas.
15 Depart Caye Caulker
