Explore the mountains and valleys around the towering peak, while learning about the traditions and cultures of the famous Sherpa, also spending time in exotic Kathmandu.

Itinerary

Day: Description:
1 Kathmandu
An excellent launching point for the adventure ahead, vibrant and eclectic Kathmandu is rich in artistic and cultural heritage and full of fascinating sights. If you can arrive early, check out Durbar Square, home to the palace of the Kumari Devi, who is considered to be a living goddess.
2-13 Everest Base Camp
Locally known as Sagarmatha, Everest is the ultimate goal for mountaineers from all over the world. This is an amazing opportunity to follow in their footsteps and reach the mountaineer's base camp, an incredible achievement in itself. A short flight delivers us to the remote airfield of Lukla and the starting point of our challenging trek. Surrounded by some of the most breathtaking mountain scenery in the world and resting overnight in local teahouses, explore the diversity of Himalayan traditions and religion and gain insight into the world-famous Sherpa culture. Following a remote mountain path, cross glaciers, traverse valleys, climb high passes to isolated monasteries and ultimately ascend to the foot of Mt Everest. This is no walk in the park, but the opportunity of a lifetime.
14-15 Kathmandu
The flight from Lukla back to the capital is short and rewarding, with great views back across our conquered Himalayan slopes. Soak up more of Kathmandu's atmosphere with a spot of shopping among the network of street markets. If shopping is not your thing, take a trip over the Bagmati River to the adjacent city of Patan, with its abundance of temples and monasteries.
