This is a genuine all-encompassing adventure offering a rare insight into the all of the allure, mystery and excitement that characterises Peru. Experience the parched coastal desert, the stunning Andean mountains and the thriving Amazon Jungle. Mingle with colourful locals, walk along ancient Inca pathways and absorb Peru’s majestic spirit completely.

Itinerary

Day: Description:
1-4 Arrive Lima - Puerto Maldonado - Amazon Jungle - Cuzco
Lima's impressive tree-lined plazas, great museums and fine public buildings provide the perfect introduction to this fascinating country. We now fly to the jungle town of Puerto Maldonado, then travel down river by canoe to our jungle lodge. Explore the rainforest on foot and by canoe accompanied by our informed local guide and spot incredible wildlife. If you choose not to visit the Amazon, you will have free time in Cuzco. On Day 4 in the morning you have a short flight through the Andes to Cuzco. Churches, colonial buildings and colourful markets abound in this fascinating Inca city
5-10 Sacred Valley - Pisaq - Ollantaytambo - Inca Your day tour of the Sacred Valley visits many ancient Inca sites and the famous market town of Pisac. Then, the three night/four day Inca Trail trek takes you through imposing mountain scenery and breathtaking peaks. The trek culminates as you enter the Sun Gate at dawn to watch the sun rise over the amazing Lost City. Explore the ruins with a local guide and then at your leisure. Return to Cuzco by train and spend a free day in enjoying the city’s colourful sights. If you do not wish to trek you can have extra free time in Cuzco and take the train to visit Machu Picchu.
11-13 Puno - Lake Titicaca - Uros, Amantaní & Taquile Islands - Puno
Enjoy a stunning bus journey across the altiplano to Puno on the shores of Lake Titicaca. Visit the floating reed islands of the Uros Indians then stay overnight with local Indians on the traditional island of Amantaní. Visit Taquile Island on your way back to Puno and enjoy amazing views of Lake Titicaca.
14-16 Arequipa - Colca Canyon - Cruz del Condor - Arequipa
Overlooked by the beautiful El Misti Volcano, Arequipa has many attractions including the Santa Catalina Convent (optional). Spend a night here and then travel through desert scenery to the high Andes and the Colca Canyon, where condors soar majestically through the world’s deepest canyon. Return to Arequipa and enjoy its colonial ambiance.
17-21 Nazca - Huacachina Oasis - Ballestas Islands – Pisco - Lima
Travelling north we reach Nazca, where you can take an optional flight over the Nazca Lines to view the famous lines and figures etched into the desert floor. Next, travel is inland to Huacachina Oasis to see the vast sand dunes. Further north we reach Pisco, where we take a boat to the Ballestas Islands and experience the amazing sights and sounds of these tiny isles teeming with birds and sea lions. Return to Pisco for the night and indulge a pisco sour. We now travel back to Lima for more shopping or sightseeing. Day 21, Depart Lima
