Polar Bear Adventure (EXD) - 6 days
Experience the world's largest land predators up close and personal during their annual congregation.
Every October and November the polar bears of Hudson Bay accumulate at Churchill to await the freezing of the seas. Land locked and starving, the bears cannot hunt until the winter ice forms. The tiny town has no roads connecting it to the rest of the country and access is by small plane only. Huge tundra busses will allow you to safely observe the bears at close quarters outside the town, whilst bears that stray into the settlement are tranquillised and put into the Polar Bear Jail. There is spare time to take a dog sled ride, explore the remarkable history of this remote outpost or simply relax in our comfortable, log-cabin style lodge.
