Everest Base Camp is one of the best trekking destinations in the world. Solukhumbu is justifiably famous not only for the world's highest mountain but for its Sherpa villages and monasteries. Once at Base Camp (5340m), you will then climb Kala Pattar - a 5545m "hump" on the southern flank of Pumori (7145m) from where there is an incredible view of Everest, the Western Cwm and Lhotse Face.

Phortse Thanga – Dole – Machhermo:
Climb steeply out of valley through rhododendron forest and see magnificentviewsof Khumbi La and Tawache |

Machhermo – Gokyo:
A day of somewhat steep ascents and descents en route to Gokyo. |

Gokyo:
